All 8 clappers were refurbished using Delrin Bushes and set up for even striking.
The over-sized clappers in the back two of this heavy octave were replaced with brand new composite clappers of timber in the 7th, and HDPE in the tenor. Both bells now go up correctly and sing better than ever before. The photo shows the hdpe clapper in the tenor.
This delightful peal of six bells were cast by Higby and Co. in 2018. The bells hang on fabricated steel headstocks in self aligning ball bearings in a frame of fabricated steel. A steel tower will be made so that the ring of bells is portable.
This grand ring of 8 have had their pulley units replaced with all new Nylon rollers running on sealed ball bearings in hardwood boxes.
All of the cast iron ceiling bosses had become rusted and severely pitted resulting in destructive rope wear. These were replaced with turned alumnium, Hard Anodised bosses.
